Since 1986, Roberto Voerzio and his family have owned and operated the Voerzio vineyard in La Morra, a small village in the heart of de Langhe, Italy. Roberto's vineyard is only a few hundred yards away from his father, Gianni Voerzio who is also a winemaker. Langhe is famous for its vineyards, some of which have existed since the year 1350. Roberto and his brother Davide operate their vineyards separately from those of their father. The Voerzio brothers' business has become most famous for the distinctive Reds that are produced by this Italian winery. Their attention to quality borderlines on obsessive, as they produce tiny quantities of wine, and do not hesitate to not bottle a wine under their own name if it does not meet their lofty standards.
All of Voerzio's Barolos hail from top vineyards, and are among the most expressive from each site. Along with producers like Gaja, no one in all of Piedmont may be making wines that capture the beauty and purity of so many great terroirs as Voerzio.
