Located in the well-known and highly-acclaimed wine region of Burgundy, France, Maison Louis Jadot has been making notable wines for over a century and a half. Established in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, the vineyard has a rich history that is respected by the winemakers today. The current facilities consist of historic buildings and storage facilities that have been integrated with modern, efficient wine making equipment and additional cellars.
Passed down from generation to generation, the Jadot family expanded their winemaking knowledge and improved on their ability to produce superior wines. In 1962, André Gagey was brought on to be part of the team. Today his son, Pierre-Henry Gagey, leads the Maison Louis Jadot 70-person team to blend their unique technical skills and commercial talents in the production of internationally-recognized wines. The results are exceptional wines made only from the region, terrior, and grapes they know best: Burgundy.
Despite being a mostly a negociant, Jadot has become a prominent house in Burgundy, much in part by the work of long time and recently retired winemaker Jacques Lardiere. His ability to coax unique characteristics out of so many different terroirs is mindboggling, and the high quality that he was able to achieve is almost as difficult. Their top wines are amazingly age-worthy, and are among the very best for each appellation.
