Maison Joseph Drouhin's cellars were founded in 1880 in Beaune. Since the inception, the cellars have spread from the cellars of the Burgundy Dukes and Kings of France in Beaune to the Moulin De Vaudon, an 18th Century watermill located in Chablis. The Joseph Drouhin Domaine now consists of 182.5 acres of vineyards throughout Côte Chalonnaise, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Chablis.
With the guidance of their father, Robert, the fourth generation of Drouhins continue to instill the family value of "Charter of Excellence", defined by discipline, an eye for detail, and discipline with a desire to learn and produce the highest quality wines for Burgundy and beyond. With Premier and Grand Crus represented by over two-thirds of their vineyards, Joseph Drouhin offers great versatility and flavor in its selection of over 90 different varieties.
Despite the size of the winery, Drouhin has become a major figure in the landscape of Burgundy. Producing amazing wines from Musigny, Chambolle Musigny Amoureuses, Bonnes Mares and Vosne Romanee Petit Monts, Drouhin achieves remarkable prices at auction, and carries a reputation closer to one of the smaller domaines.
