    Montrachet 1995
    Marquis de Laguiche, J. Drouhin
    Magnum (6)
"I have had this wine perhaps 15 times with most of them displaying an understated nose of white flowers and a touch of botrytis introduces medium weight flavors that offer good distinction but not necessarily great concentration or depth. There is solid length and to be sure, this is a classy drink but ultimately, one is left wanting more. Perhaps the complexity that is presently missing will develop with a few more years of bottle age. 89/now+ Note: while clearly fresher in magnum, it is also displaying some distinct age and I would be inclined to be drinking it as well though without the same urgency. Also, the score of 92 refers to the best example that I have tried." (92pts Allen Meadows, Burghound, March 2010)

"In contrast to many fruit forward, low acid 95s, this is positively regal and reserved with very intense, borderline austere fruit that emphasizes minerality, limestone and white flowers. The flavor profile is marked by citrus notes, especially lemon, and green apples all underscored by excellent cut and delineation. Powerful, concentrated and very persistent, this should enjoy a long life." (92 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound #4, Oct. 2001)

    Estimate: $3,750 - $4,750.
