"This remains youthful and extremely fresh with an expressive nose of green apple, citrus and floral notes that introduce big, powerful and muscular medium-weight plus flavors that culminate in a hugely long and linear finish that doesn't quit because as soon as it seems to have stopped, it commences again in waves. The '02 Corton-Charlemagne is a great wine in every respect that to my taste is approaching its apogee but has not quite reached it. Still, it should be noted that it is so close that you wouldn't be leaving much upside on the table to enjoy it now. In sum, this is most impressive. Tasted several times recently with consistent notes." (96pts Allen Meadows, Burghound, April 2012)

Big, powerful and muscular medium-weight plus flavors possess a really lovely texture thanks to the abundance of dry extract before culminating in a wonderfully persistent finish that really fans out as it sits on the palate. The ’02 Corton-Charlemagne is a great wine in every respect and one that is approaching its apogee. Still, it is so close that you wouldn’t be leaving much upside on the table to enjoy it now.
