    Description

Dominio de Pingus Ribera del Duero 1995
    bsl, hcrc, spc
    Magnum (1)
Provenance: Property of one of the most important collectors in the United States. Beloved among collectors and revered as one of the original "SuperCellars" in the country, these wines boast impeccable provenance and storage. It is a great honor to offer this small but distinguished selection from one of the most prominent collectors in the world.

"The 1995 Dominico de Pingus exhibits an opaque purple color, an extraordinary sweet nose of black fruits, truffles, and nicely-integrated, subtle pain grille. The wine is massive, huge, and full-bodied, with layers of concentrated, pure fruit, loads of glycerin, and beautifully sweet tannin. Although one would think it would taste Bordeaux-like, it has its own individual style that falls somewhere between St.-Emilion's Valandraud, Pesquera's Janus, and Vega Sicilia's Unico!" (98pts Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #113, Oct, 1997)

"The maiden Pingus is still going strong as it approaches adulthood. It has a complex bouquet, the glycerine content having ebbed over the years, revealing lush scents of creme de cassis, blackberry, black olive and a slight earthy, almost Graves-like tincture. The palate is medium-bodied with surprising succulent on the entry underpinned by crisp acidity. There is almost a sense of conservatism to this Pingus, but it is undeniably well balanced." (92 pts. Neal Martin, eRobertParker.com #202, Aug. 2012)
