"This is a wine that I have had on any number of occasions and it would be fair to observe that there is a tremendous amount of bottle variation. While most bottles in my experience display some noticeable levels of reduction (even occasionally mercaptans), when it doesn't extend to the palate this can be a really impressive wine with outstanding depth and persistence. My score is a bit of a compromise as the reduction is enough to materially detract from the overall experience yet the mouth feel and sheer complexity are first-rate. For my taste this is drinking very well now and I would advise giving this at least a quick aeration and 20 to 30 minutes would be better." (92 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Oct. 2018)
