    Description

    Vosne Romanee 2003
    Cros Parantoux, Meo-Camuzet
    bsl
    Bottle (1)
"The naturally cool site conditions of the Cros Parantoux vineyard really comes through in a super ripe vintage like 2003 as this is an exceptionally fresh example. A wonderfully vibrant, floral and layered nose features spicy, intense and bright black berry fruit, plum and cassis aromas that merge into explosive, muscular and powerful flavors of striking length and purity. This is ripe with a stiff tannic backbone buried beneath the generous pinot extract and the harmony here is a beautiful thing. Powerful, classy and pure and this presently finishes with a hint of austerity but this will pass as the tannins begin to resolve. In sum, while it must be said that like virtually all 2003s, this is certainly marked by the vintage, it's very much less so than most. Patience, and lots of it, required and it would not surprise me if even my 20 year initial drinking window proved to be too optimistic." (93pts Allen Meadows, Burghound, Nov 2009)
