"Reserved, almost brooding in character with subtle, fine and intense black fruit with sexy, huge, powerful flavors and simply stupendous length. This is dripping with velvet as the sap seemingly suffuses every aspect of the wine. While I appreciate that it sounds contradictory, this is discreetly opulent and yet never loses its remarkable sense of balance and finesse. A fantastic effort and arguably the best wine in this entire tasting. In a word, magical." (96pts Allen Meadows, Burghound #5, Jan 2002)
