The Cortelyou Collection: Wines sourced from a trusted industry colleague who had two cellars worth of blue-chip material in NYC and London. All wines impeccably stored professionally.
"There is a whiff of secondary development on the still mostly primary and wonderfully spicy nose that is comprised by notes of cassis, poached plum, violet, lilac and Asian-style tea. The rich, vibrant and succulent big-bodied flavors flash plenty of minerality on the muscular, dusty, moderately austere and still firmly compact finale. This is a big but not really robust Musigny that if more powerful than usual, if less refined, while delivering simply stunning length. It's clear that this is still very young and while it's a Mugnier Musigny that should be approachable after 10 to 12 years of age, if you wish to see it at its apogee, 20+ years is likely to be required.
