"A gorgeously spicy nose combines dark pinot fruit liqueur scents, various floral elements and exotic tea notes. There is an ultra-refined mouth feel to the imposingly scaled, concentrated and intensely mineral-driven flavors that brim with dry extract that both imparts a velvety texture and buffers the very firm tannic spine on the explosively long and astonishingly complex finish. Among the hundreds of 2012s that I revisited in bottle on this trip, there were exactly three that I swallowed rather than spit out and this was one of them. A 'wow' wine if there ever was one."
