"This is still remarkably youthful though it's now revealing some secondary development on the kaleidoscopically broad and spicy red and black pinot fruit nose that is both deep and layered and this sense of profound depth continues onto the big, powerful and seriously robust flavors that possess buckets of dry extract that relegates the still substantial tannic backbone to the background on the strikingly long and palate-staining finish. This is a huge if perhaps not classically elegant Musigny that will very likely to see its 80th birthday in fine condition though it should begin to drink well somewhere between its 25th and 30th anniversaries. This is a big wine that is very much in the Leroy style but it is no less impressive for that." (97pts Allen Meadows, Burghound, May 2010)
