    Gevrey Chambertin 2015
Clos St. Jacques, Vieilles Vignes, Fourrier
    Bottle (3)

"This also exhibits plenty of earth and sauvage elements yet the fruit profile is slightly higher-toned and a bit more elegant as well. There is a driving minerality and underlying tension to the succulent yet refined middle weight flavors that brim with dry extract on the impeccably well-balanced finale. This classy effort is at once built-to-age but not backward and should be accessible after only a few years." (92-94 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound #65, Jan. 2017)

"Tasted blind, Jean-Marie Fourrier's distinctive fingerprint was immediately recognizable in the 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques, a beautiful wine that soared from the glass with a projected bouquet of wild berries, peonies, orange rind and subtle currant leaf. Medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent, it's a concentrated, fleshy wine with considerable mid-palate depth and dimension, structured around fine, even melting tannins and concluding with a long, intense finish." (95 pts. William Kelley, Wine Advocate #239, Oct. 2018)

"The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St.-Jacques 1er Cru has a sensual bouquet that remains transparent despite concentrated aromas of raspberry, crushed strawberry and a touch of orange blossom. The palate is rounded and quite sensual, the plumpest of the five Clos St.-Jacques, and a little glossy in style, but there is plenty of substance behind that. Very good length here, and it seems to gain more backbone with aeration. Great long-term potential." (93 pts. Neal Martin, Vinous, Nov. 2018)
