"This is quite cool within the context of a very ripe vintage such as 2009 with airy, pure and fresh red berry fruit liqueur aromas that are cut with hints of earth, stone and spice. The natural elegance of Combottes is on display as there is a silky mouth feel to the intense and brilliantly well-delineated middle weight flavors that possess a lovely sense of underlying tension on the palate staining and driving finish. Like the Charmes this is very classy and like the Brûlées, I cannot recall ever tasting a more promising Leroy Combottes as this surpasses even the brilliant 2001." (96 pts.
