"A beautifully complex and sous bois and VA-infused nose leads to the flavors have turned somewhat candied with quite a bit of finishing structure though there is enough mid-palate fat and length remaining for this to be an interesting wine." (88 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Oct. 2013)
"This was also a terrific showing for the sensational 1937 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru, a brilliantly complex wine bursting with aromas of plum compote, sweet cocoa, incense, cedar, balsam bough and candied peel, lifted by some high-toned top notes of balsamic cherry and vanilla pod. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and satiny, with amazing mid-palate amplitude, tangy balancing acids and considerable reserves of concentration and extract. Similar in profile to the 1947, the 1937 is marginally more complex but slightly less coherent: it would be hard indeed to chose between them." (98 pts. William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Dec. 2018)
