DescriptionCharmes Chambertin 2011
Cuvee de Tres Vieilles Vignes, J. Roty
"A conspicuous but again not dominant lashing of wood still allows the complex and highly spiced nose of wild and fresh red currant, plum, earth, humus and a hint of smoke to be fully appreciated. There is a refined mouth feel to the surprisingly supple mid-palate of the broad-shouldered flavors where there is so much dry extract that this appears less structured than it really is, all wrapped in a delicious and admirably long finish where the wood toast reemerges." (93 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound #53, Jan. 2014)
Estimate: $2,400 - $3,250.
