"The most aromatically complex wine here with a kaleidoscopic array of red and black fruits, spice, iron, earth, herbs and that wonderful gamey quality great Chambertin often gets followed by very sweet, sappy and deep old viney flavors that are both huge and extremely powerful, all wrapped in buckets of sap. This is a very ripe wine yet it retains its focus and precision with more minerality than this wine usually displays. A great, great effort and without a doubt, this is one of the wines of the vintage. This will age for two decades, perhaps longer." (93-96pts Allen Meadows, Burghound #17, Jan 2005)
