Property of a North Carolina gentleman, compliments of his temperature and humidity-controlled cellar. All wines purchased upon release.
"(opened from personal storage). Strong Gevrey earth notes marry with big, black, intense and remarkably complex spicy black fruit aromas that lead to big-bodied and intense flavors underpinned by relatively soft tannins and fine if not incredible length. If there is a niggle, despite the impressive concentration, ripeness (though by no means over ripe) and sheer depth, it's the absence of much finesse though this may very well arrive with time as this should live for a long time yet it is already reasonably approachable. Consistent notes save for one bottle that displayed distinct signs of brett, indeed to the point that the finish was metallic." (92 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Aug. 2013)
