"Explosively fresh and nuanced red fruit aromas cut with earth and underbrush lead to relatively fine, intense and focused flavors of real breed and class, not to mention impressive length. I very much like the style here and while this is by no means a big Chambertin, it is very pretty and elegant. Enjoyable now as it has softened nicely but it will continue to hold well for decades if stored properly." (93pts Allen Meadows, Burghound #33, Jan 2009)

"This should prove to be one of the great successes of the vintage. The dark ruby/purple color is followed by an unevolved nose that smells like a barrel sample given its big, grapy, jammy black fruit character intertwined with aromas of prunes, damp earth, spices, and meat. In the mouth, there is superb concentration, medium body, integrated soft tannins, and a whoppingly long finish." (96 pts. Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #84, Dec 1992)
