Description

Chateau Le Tertre Roteboeuf 1995
St. Emilion
Bottle (12)

"A very powerful, concentrated Tertre Roteboeuf, but completely closed at present, this wine has a deep ruby/purple color, and a sweet nose of black cherry and plum jam intermixed with hints of vanilla, chocolate, and espresso roast. The wine is medium to full-bodied, quite tannic, powerful, and one of the more backward wines I have tasted at this estate." (94 pts. Robert Parker, Bordeaux Book 4th Ed. , Jan. 2003)

"Very good deep red-ruby color. Fabulously expressive, superripe aromas of black raspberry, black cherry, maple syrup, toffee and roasted oak, with a floral topnote adding complexity. Thick, silky and amazingly sweet, with outstanding depth of flavor. As opulent and exotic as this wine is, it maintains lovely flavor definition. The toffee and smoky oak notes repeat of the palate. Suave tannins are buried in fruit. Wow!" (94 pts. Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 1998)
