    Description

    Chateau Cos d'Estournel 1928
    St. Estephe
ts, lbsl, nc, reconditioned by Chateau in 1992
    Bottle (1)
"This has always been considered one of the great 1928s and when I first tasted it a number of years ago it was nearly perfect. This particular bottle displayed the tough tannin that is a characteristic of the vintage. No doubt the high tannin and rich concentration are the reasons why so many 1928s are in superb condition at 65 years of age. The color was a dusty, dark ruby/garnet, and the bouquet offered aromas of sweet red and black fruits, damp earth, oak, and an interesting pine tree-like scent. Rich, medium to full-bodied, with excellent depth of fruit, and freshness, this wine will last for 10-15 more years." (92pts Robert Parker, Wine Advocate #90, Dec 1993)
