    White Muscat 1951
    Dessert, Massandra
    Bottle (6)
Light amber color. This wine is, as it should be, the most developed of the flight. This has largely shed its primary tropical fruits and exhibits a mature nose that is profound but simple. Rich honey, overripe peach, all the typical scents - but the palate is where the age is best demonstrated. The palate opens with a beautiful and pure note of underbrush and tea before the gentle residual sugar starts to slowly unfold. In a mass crescendo you see maple and nut flavors emerge along the finely structured body that is rich but not heavy. This is quite sweet but the extra development means the sugar doesn't overwhelm and instead provides a phenomenally complete and complex experience. Very tasty stuff, but I suspect it will be even better when a little more of this sugar is tamed - and the structure is there to support my conclusion. (95pts FCM)
