Its dense purple color is followed by notes of mulberries, creme de cassis, blackberries, licorice, graphite and subtle smoke. Full-bodied, rich and super concentrated, the palate delivers layer upon layer of red and black fruit preserves flavors, framed by lovely finely grained tannins and great freshness, finishing long and minerally.” (97 pts. “Good dark red. A bit darker on the nose than the 2000, showing noteworthy complexity to the aromas of plum, graphite and truffle. Wonderfully creamy flavors of redcurrant, spices and flowers are framed by vibrant acidity. The lovely aromatic finish shows a broad, firm dusting of tannins, a captivating light touch and excellent length and lift.
