    Description

    Dom Perignon Vintage Champagne 1988
    ogb
    Magnum (1)

"...the '88 is an outstanding example of how beautiful this wine can be. Its notes are pure, like a brilliant diamond, and the nose is very fine. Toast, coffee beans, and fresh orangey fruit come to mind. The taste is also brilliant with clear, sharp, uplifting aromas of fruit and nuts. An ultra-sophisticated, rather light Dom Pérignon." (95 pts. Richard Juhlin, Nov. 2013)

"Here the expressive and highly nuanced nose is fully mature with full-on aromas of brioche and powerful yeast scents that add plenty of breadth to the baked apple, pear, floral and soft spice nuances. The rich, full-bodied and equally powerful flavors possess a borderline creamy mouth feel despite the presence of a still very firm mousse, all wrapped in an utterly delicious, deep and palate coating finale. This is a lovely '88 that has arrived at its apogee in perfect form and one that should continue to drink well for another decade and perhaps even longer." (95 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound #60, Oct. 2015)
