    Tokay 1987
    South Coast, Massandra
    Bottle (6)
This is an attention-getter from go. Funky, sweet nose with a touch of reduction. Seemingly yeasty, raisin bread and wheat nose. Low acid attack leads up to a lush but somewhat ambiguous palate. This is simple but the pure raisin-honey profile has a long, crisp, slightly alcoholic finish. Texture is pretty and rounds this into a really fun drink. After tasting other examples it seems clear these Tokay just need ages in order to develop secondary and tertiary characteristics, but this is still quite tasty with loads of potential evident. (93pts FCM)
