Deep golden color. The slightly dusty nose exhibits a touch of volatility over sweet raisins and figs with a hint of earthy agent that I can't quite put my finger on. The expansive nose grows in stature and expression with time in the glass, but this never threatens overpowering sweetness and the palate opens with a refreshing splash of spirit and acidity before fleshing out to the lush apricot-centric raisiny fruit palate. The wine is thick in the middle of the palate and could perhaps benefit from a touch of high/lighter notes, but it is delicious and pure with a clean, honeyed finish that goes on for ages and ages. The balance here favors the sugar, throughout in this nectary wine. (96pts FCM)
