Top-flight Vintages From Several Distinguished Collections Lead Heritage Auctions' June Wine Event

Highlights include a 1947 La Mission Haut Brion, a rare 1971 Vogue Amoureuses, 35 lots of Screaming Eagle DOWNLOAD DIGITAL PRESS KIT DALLAS, Texas (May 31, 2022) — On June 10, during its Fine & Rare Wine Signature® Auction, Heritage Auctions will present elite wines from a trio of discerning collectors, including top vintages sure to satisfy the most dedicated trophy hunters. Among the highlights in the Reed Collection, which was carefully curated by a prominent Los Angeles-area collector, are a mouth-watering 1947 La Mission Haut Brion Bottle (9) (estimate: $28,000-$37,500) and the rarest 1971 Vogue Amoureuses Bottle (6) (estimate: $24,000-$32,500). The auction also includes the impressive Stone Canyon Collection: "The gentleman who compiled this assemblage started collecting big-ticket items at precisely the right time," says Frank Martell, Heritage Auctions' Senior Director of Fine & Rare Wine. "This is the who's who of who's whos — top-rated Bordeaux and verticals of Vogue, DRC, Ponsot and Roumier, all in buy-it-and-drink-it quantites, purchased on release and stored professionally." From the incredible cellar of a Distinguished New Englander comes a collection featuring tasteful representations from all the right estates in all the right regions and in all the right vintages. Virtually all of the more than 430 lots — including a 1993 DRC La Tache (Bottle (5) (estimate: $20,000-$28,000) and a 1993 DRC Grands Echezeaux Bottle (6) (estimate: $16,000-$21,000) — were purchased on release through natural distribution channels and stored in an underground temperature- and humidity-controlled cellar. "Our consignor has lovingly crafted a cellar that very much resembles a collection I would build for myself," Martell says. "Typically a consignment of this size will have highly focused tastes, but this bon vivant is truly an admirer of every grape. With ideal underground storage in a rural New England village, this is a drinker's dream." Also on offer are 35 lots of Screaming Eagle and vintage Madeira going back to 1834, which are just some of the many standouts in the top-flight auction catalog. "For this event, which touches on everything there is to love about wine, we have assembled yet another stunning assortment of cellars," Martell says.
