Heritage Spring Wine Auction Set To Clear $3 Million

100+ lots of DRC lead a strong sale of more than 1,600 lots

Heritage Auctions

BEVERLY HILLS, California (March 13, 2018) — Impeccable vintages from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Château Haut-Brion and Château Mouton Rothschild crown Heritage Auctions' next Fine & Rare Wine Auction, March 23-24 in Beverly Hills, California. More than 100 lots of DRC, 240 lots of First Growth Bordeaux and Petrus and nearly 100 lots of Harlan and Screaming Eagle lead the sale. The auction, which will feature a total of more than 1,600 lots, will take place at the Heritage Beverly Hills Gallery and be simulcast to Hong Kong.

"It's a great time to sell wine as the global market has never been thirstier for the best of the best," Heritage Auctions Fine and Rare Wine Senior Director Frank Martell said. "We're looking forward to a strong sale and a busy first half of 2018."

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, of course, leads the list of highlights. Hot on the heels of two $100,000+ lots in 2017, DRC is expected for top-lot honors in March, including:

· Romanee Conti 2002 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Bottle (3) (est. $32,500-42,500)

· Romanee Conti 2006 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Bottle (2) (est. $20,000-28,000)

· Grands Echezeaux 1990 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Bottle (12) (est. $20,000-28,000)

· Romanee Conti 1990 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Bottle (1) (est. $16,000-21,000)

· Romanee Conti 1982 Domaine de la Romanee Conti Bottle (2) (est. $16,000-21,000)

Pauillac, a village on Bordeaux's Médoc peninsula, produced Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2000 Pauillac Bottle (12) (est. $18,000-24,000), while Richebourg 1981 H. Jayer Bottle (2) could draw $16,000-21,000 or more.

Further highlights include rare bottles of Henri Jayer purchased on release from a local consignor (Richebourg 1981 H. Jayer Bottle (2) (est. $16,000-21,000) and an East Coast consignment of rare large format Sine Qua Non, including the rarest double magnum of SQN ever to come to market: the Sine Qua Non Red 2001 Rudy Matt Cuvee Double-Magnum (1) (est. $15,000-20,000). Purchased by Rudy Kurniawan and a friend at the Hospice du Rhone, the whole barrel was bottled and kept by these two collectors. Three double magnums were bottled, and this item, #1 of 3, is certainly the most desirable.

Other top lots include, but are not limited to:

· Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2000 Pauillac Bottle (12) (est. $18,000-24,000)

· Chateau Haut Brion Blanc 1989 Bottle (12): est. $15,000-20,000

· Chateau Petrus 1983 Bottle (12): est. $14,000-18,000

· Sine Qua Non Red 1999 Tant Pis! Magnum (2): est. $14,000-18,000

· Chateau Haut Brion 1989 Bottle (12): est. $14,000-18,000
