"The 1991 reveals a deeper ruby/garnet color with a hint of purple, and a shy but attractive perfume of red and black fruits, wood, spice, and a vague notion of mint. On the palate the wine exhibits very good to excellent depth, medium body, and admirable tannin, glycerin, ripeness, and richness in the spicy finish. It is a more measured style of Martha's Vineyard, as well as more concentrated than the 1990. If it matures gracefully over the next decade, it will resemble the 1969 and 1973." (89 pts.
