"Voerzio's 1996 Barolo Cerequio is dark, unctuous and rich in texture, with plenty of black cherry, plum, smoke and licorice. The aromatics show a good bit of development, but there is more than enough depth for the 1996 to drink well for another handful of years or more. This is a decidedly powerful, virile vintage for the Cerequio. Much of that has to do with the more extracted style that was in vogue here in the mid 1990s." (94 pts.
