A short and stout consignment from a Relais and Chateaux Inn on Lake Michigan. These bottles were only listed on the "Reserve List" which in the owner would only offer to serious wine customers. One can see why immediately. Bottles stored in the below ground wine cellar at the estate.
"The ripe and still admirably fresh and bright blackberry fruit aromas now evidence noticeable secondary character plus gorgeous spice nuances that continue onto the focused, opulent and serious big-bodied flavors that possess superb finishing complexity and persistence. There is still some tannic structure to resolve though this has excellent density of extract and impeccable balance that will permit this impressive effort to live for another 50 years." (94 pts.
