Lokoya Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Howell Mountain
2owc
Bottle (6)

The Visionary’s Cellar. This remarkable collection of California Blue Chip icons, stellar Bordeaux and more is the result of decades on coveted mailing lists and relationships carefully cultivated over more than twenty years. The consignor spared no expense in creating two extraordinary cellars: one, a showpiece of elegant lighting and design for entertaining; the other, an equally meticulous reserve for overflow of the highest caliber. Hundred Acre, Harlan Estate, Dana, Colgin—this is a titanic lineup of treasures for the discerning collector. As our generous consignor embarks on a new chapter in retirement, the fruits of his passion are now offered to our bidders. Bid with confidence—and with gusto.

"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is deep purple-black in color and offers an incredible perfume of lilacs, black truffles, violets and menthol over a core of cassis, mulberries and warm plums plus a waft of tobacco leaf. The palate is full-bodied and built like a brick house with very firm, very ripe tannins and oodles of freshness cutting through the earthy layers, finishing very long. 920 cases produced." (98 pts. Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate, Oct. 2018)

"The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (Howell Mountain), all from Keyes, is dark and explosive on the palate, with tremendous thrust and intensity in all directions. Crushed rocks, menthol, crème de cassis, dark chocolate, pencil shavings and cured meats race out of the glass. Dense and potent, the 2016 has a very bright future ahead of it. The Howell Mountain is a wine of gravitas and pure power." (97 pts. Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec. 2018)
