Description

Chateau Lynch Bages 1998
Pauillac
1lbsl, 1wasl
Bottle (3)

"Dark ruby-red. Ripe blackcurrant aromas and flavors are lifted by pungent graphite, cedar and mineral notes. Balanced, pure and smooth in the mouth, with excellent perfume and precision. Finishes long and pure, with lingering cassis and leather notes. This is another Lynch-Bages that has picked up volume and flesh from bottle aging. It's a very classic Pauillac and a wine that can still improve with additional cellaring." (91+ pts. Ian D'Agata, Vinous, Jan. 2012)

"Meat, ripe fruit and mushrooms on the nose follow through to a full body, with round and chewy tannins. Serious concentration of fruit on the finish. A little rustic now, but should come around nicely with bottle age." (89 pts. James Suckling, Wine Spectator, 2009)
