The Chambers Collection: This standout consignment comes from a wildly successful New Jersey trial lawyer who had a deep passion for blue-chip Italian wines. All wines stored in the consignor’s ice-cold, temperature-controlled home cellar.
"The color is just beginning to lighten at the rim. There is ample secondary influence to the spicy dried red berry scents that reflect additional notes of soft earth and a whiff of the sauvage. There is both excellent intensity and minerality to the beautifully well-detailed middle weight flavors that culminate in a linear, focused and sneaky long finish that is dusty and still a bit austere. This is unlikely to ever be a seductive wine as it's shaped and defined by its acidity but I very much like the depth on offer. For my taste, this has just now arrived at the front end of its prime drinking window though I underscore that it should hold here for at least another decade. Lovely." (92 pts.
