Property from the cellar of a meticulous and dedicated student of all things oenological. This prudent thinning represents less than 20% of his holdings, all purchased carefully and stored under immaculate temperature and humidity control.
"I have had this numerous times over the years though with plenty of bottle variation from on example to the next. Some bottles possess first-rate complexity and reasonably good balance whereas others seem to be thinning on the slightly edgy finishes. The best bottles display ripe, complex and overtly spicy aromas that are nuanced by lovely Asian-style tea and floral nuances. There is excellent detail to the notably supple middle weight flavors that offer very solid if not truly special depth and length. I would be drinking this up sooner than later as most bottles are now tiring and thus excellent provenance is everything. Note that the lesser bottles are typically in the 89 to 90 point range."
