Our friend and NY Collector has sent some lovely Burgundies from his Cellar. All wine stored in a temperature and humidity -controlled cellar.
"Toasty reduction buries the fruit at present. Otherwise, the tautly muscular, super-sleek and intensely mineral-driven flavors possess evident power while delivering gorgeous depth and an abundance of sappy dry extract on the dusty and youthfully austere finish that goes on and on. “The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1er Cru is matured entirely in new oak. It has a brutally backward bouquet that only reluctantly begins to unfurl. I almost asked Emmanuel Rouget to run upstairs and give my glass a decant! The palate is silky smooth on the entry, beautifully focused and citrus-fresh. Blood orange and hints of crème de cassis appear towards the crystalline finish. Superb.” (95–97 pts. Neal Martin, Vinous, Nov. 2023)
