2owc
Bottle (12)

From the single-owner collection of an esteemed industry insider, sourced directly from Europe's most prestigious estates. "Quite a tour de force. Deep, purple-black hue. Lovely ripe-fruit nose with blackcurrant and raisined notes. Iron edge to the palate which is steely, fresh and minerally but sweet and ripe at the same time. Big tannic base but the texture is suave and long. Undoubted ageing potential." (18 pts. James Lawther, Jancis Robinson, Dec. 2021)

"Blueberries and roasted meat mark the nose of the 2020 Ermitage Ex Voto, which comes from estate parcels in Les Bessards (30%), Les Greffieux (30%), Les Murets (20%) and L'Hermite (20%). Full-bodied and concentrated, it's remarkably silky and elegant on the finish already." (93–96 pts. Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Feb. 2022)

"The 2020 Ermitage Ex-Voto offers a captivating bouquet of crushed flowers, red plum, spice box, black cherry, cured meat, mocha and peppery accents, creating a layered and expressive profile. Totally inviting, it is full-bodied, powerful and concentrated with bright acidity that adds excellent drive. The finish is both persistent and complex, showcasing remarkable depth. The stellar 2020 stands tall alongside the equally enticing 2019, making it another exceptional vintage." (96 pts. Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, Nov. 2024)

"The interplay of toasty oak with stony minerality is every bit as important to this wine as the way the plush tannins balance the gigantic forest berry fruit. Builds to a huge climax at the very structured and driving finish. Aged for 42 months in oak. Drinkable now, but best from 2027." (97 pts. Stuart Pigott, James Suckling, Apr. 2024)
