Description

Musigny 2004
J.F. Mugnier
Bottle (1)

Property from the cellar of a meticulous and dedicated student of all things oenological. This prudent thinning represents less than 20% of his holdings, all purchased carefully and stored under immaculate temperature and humidity control.

"This is now beginning to display some secondary development and while there is a trace of green tea character on the nose, it is reasonably subtle. There is good richness to the extremely pure medium full flavors that are restrained but no longer backward on the focused and beautifully well-balanced finish that delivers excellent length. To my taste this has now arrived at its peak drinkability though it should hold there for the better part of another decade. In sum, this is pretty and really quite good in the context of a challenging vintage. Tasted several times recently with mostly consistent results though a few examples seem just a bit warm and merit scores in the 89 to 90 point range." (92 pts Allen Meadows, Burghound, April 2018)
