Description

Chambolle Musigny 2002
Les Gruenchers, Domaine Dujac
1lscl
Bottle (6)

Property from the cellar of a meticulous and dedicated student of all things oenological. This prudent thinning represents less than 20% of his holdings, all purchased carefully and stored under immaculate temperature and humidity control.

"Good deep red. Musky aromas of black fruits, violet and smoke. Very silky entry, then suave and tangy in the middle palate, with noteworthy volume and great early charm. Complicating notes of herbs, smoke and underbrush. Very sweet and smooth on the back end." (91 pts. Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, March 2004)

"Slight reductive notes but not enough to smother the elegant red fruit and floral notes that merge into dense, pure, gorgeously detailed, perfectly balanced flavors that coat and stain the palate with buckets of sappy extract. The complexity on the superbly long finish is really impressive and another in a long line of stunning wines from this vineyard. In fact, other than the Echézeaux, this has to be Dujac's most under rated wine." (89-92 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound, Jan. 2004)
