"As it usually is, this is much earthier with a dark, richly fruited nose and while the tannins are less refined compared to those of the Beaux-Monts, the copious old vine sap both stains and coats the mouth and the intensity and complexity of the dry, dusty finish is most impressive. This is as good as the Beaux Monts if not quite as elegant yet I find the old vine character enormously appealing." (91 pts. Burghound, Jan. 2005)
