"Extremely primary, mostly red fruits with a trace of cassis and earth notes followed by full-bodied flavors underpinned by ripe tannins wrapped in sap and this is really quite concentrated and very intense. In particular, the finish displays outstanding length and superb acid/fruit balance. With air this becomes beautifully perfumed, indeed almost opulent, quite pure and fine. To be sure, this is still amply structured and a touch austere but not hard and it continues to display great potential." (93 pts. Allen Meadows, Burghound, May 2004)
