"There is an interesting dried leaf component to the gamy, forest floor, floral and earth-inflected nose that still displays a whisper of wood. There is excellent volume, richness and concentration to the succulent, round and notably ripe flavors that terminate in a lingering if ever-so-mildly edgy finale that offers fine if not truly special complexity and persistence. This is actually quite a good '97 and for my taste it has arrived at its peak though I underscore that it will easily hold for another decade, perhaps even a bit longer." (92 pts.
